Covanta Haverhill Inc. is committed to being an active and supportive community member. Covanta believes it has a responsibility to give back to the community by investing in communities where we operate; providing jobs for local residents; and supporting education, the environment, social and economic development. Over the past 20 years, it has been a sponsor of many public, private and non-profit organizations. Sponsorship has included in-kind donations of monetary funds, equipment, and/or time and labor.

Covanta Haverhill Inc. is also committed to providing those living in the community with a better understanding of the benefits of their neighborhood Energy from Waste facility. As a component of membership in the US EPA Performance Track program, Covanta Haverhill Inc. completes an Annual Performance Report in which it demonstrates to US EPA and the public its environmental accomplishments over the year, its continued high level of environmental performance, and its maintenance of the Performance Track membership criteria.

Covanta Haverhill Inc. provides escorted tours of the facility to anyone interested in learning more about the Energy from Waste process. The facility has hosted tours for students from local grade schools, high schools, universities and colleges, various civic and community organizations, and our customers. Covanta Haverhill Inc is an active member in the Haverhill Chamber of Commerce and the Merrimack Valley Chamber of Commerce. These chambers serve as a voice for businesses in the Merrimack Valley region of Massachusetts. The chambers meet regularly to discuss new regulations, community changes and various other topics. The chambers’ highly respected public policy staff works with state legislators and officials to help shape specific laws and to promote a regulatory system that responds to businesses’ concerns.

Covanta Haverhill Inc is an active participant in Merrimack Valley Regional Local Emergency Planning Commission (LEPC).

Over the past ten years, Covanta Haverhill has been a sponsor of many public, private, and non-profit organizations. Sponsorship has included in-kind donations of monetary funds, equipment, and/or labor.
